Golden Horn Beach (Zlatni Rat)
Croatia’s most iconic beach Zlatni rat, famous for its shape-shifting tip and crystal-clear water. Swim, relax, and watch the surfers do their magic. Best to visit right at the start of your journey. Anchoring here is only allowed on the mooring buoy, which is subject to a fee.
Moving further west, you’ll visit next a peaceful deep indented bay, and enter the mysterious tunnels of a secret military marina, where navy ships once hid. A true off-the-beaten-path experience and a hit for history lovers and adventurers. You can anchor in the bay and stop for a short swim.
Next stop – cruise by a working tuna farm and see how one of Dalmatia’s most prized exports comes to life. Curious dolphins sometimes swing by, too.
View of the Former Yugoslav Military Base
At the very tip of the Hvar island, you’ll catch sight of a fascinating remnant from another time, a now-abandoned Yugoslav military base, discreetly built into the coastline. While you don’t enter it on this tour, the view from the sea sparks curiosity and gives context to Hvar’s layered history.
